Southcoast Health: Proudly providing world-class healthcare and service, locally in Southeastern MA & RI
Southcoast Health is a not-for-profit, charitable, community-based health system with multiple access points, offering an integrated continuum of health services throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Our system includes three hospitals — Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River (founded in 1885), St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford (founded in 1884) and Tobey Hospital in Wareham (founded in 1938). These hospitals merged on June 9, 1996, to form Southcoast Hospitals Group and operate under a single hospital license, with a total of 815 beds. In addition, Southcoast Health partners with Acadia Healthcare to offer expanded resources at Southcoast Behavioral Health in Dartmouth.
